Vilma Maré at (hi)story labor(atory) August 6th, 2011
(hi)story label was established 2000 and speaks of a chosen at-a-time historical clothing culture and tradition. Designer is offering her interpretation for our days in the manner of post-modern school. We de-construct, preserve and interpret our clothing culture to modern conditions and lifestyle. We use modern materials (wool, rayon and silk jerseys) and original sewing/finishing technology.
Vilma Maré has developed a line of power suits for women, where the strength is not aggressive, but crafty, calm, monogamic and very comfortable to be in. In American present slang "crafty" = "clever", therefore craftiness is most visible in designer's clothes.
Poetry by Vladas Braziunas emphasizes past present poetic times, or the archetypal 'holly times'. That's exactly what I emphasize with my (hi)story business in clothing design: only when we celebrate, we experience wearable semantics of looking and feeling good.
